Waarom kookt mijn crossmotor over?

Dit kan meerdere oorzaken hebben. Vaak is het een defecte of gebarsten radiatordop die de druk niet meer vasthoudt. Andere oorzaken zijn dichtgeslibde koelvinnen door modder, een te laag koelvloeistofpeil of een versleten schoepenwiel (impeller) in je waterpomp.
Hoe weet ik of mijn waterpomp defect is?

Het meest duidelijke signaal is een melkachtige, witte kleur in je versnellingsbakolie. Dit betekent dat de waterpompafdichting lek is en water bij je olie komt. Een ander teken is onverklaarbaar koelvloeistofverlies zonder dat je een externe lekkage aan de radiateurslangen ziet.
Hoe vaak moet ik mijn crossmotor radiateur vervangen?

Bij normaal tot intensief gebruik adviseren we om de radiateur elke 2 tot 3 jaar preventief te vervangen. Metaalmoeheid en zware trillingen zorgen uiteindelijk voor onherstelbare microscheurtjes in het dunne aluminium.
