Almost all 4-stroke engines have an automatic camshaft chain tensioner that works with a spring and oil. The downside is that when the throttle is opened, the spring quickly becomes subject to significant force, forcing it to adjust the tension. This causes the tension to change slightly at that moment (which can have adverse effects), and the chain will wear out more quickly in the long run.

Mino MX Racing has come up with the solution: a manual camshaft chain tensioner. This sets the chain to a fixed tension, which it maintains since it's not self-adjusting and corrects itself when the engine is running.

A major advantage is that there's less wear and tear, and the chain tension doesn't change while riding. This results in a more consistent power output from the engine, which is especially noticeable when accelerating out of a corner.
